Smells like a scam.

* It’s so easy that anyone will be successful. Even if everyone had prior experience in owning a business, this statement still wouldn’t be true. Learning all that you need to know to make a home business opportunity successful takes time and dedication. To be successful at a home based business, you need to be savvy in all areas, including marketing, technology and sales, among others. As with any business, trial-and-error plays a big part in the success of a home business opportunity. Learning is an ongoing process. Running a business becomes easier and more second-nature only after you have done the necessary research.

* You will make millions overnight. Instant, long-lasting wealth is a myth. Period. Unless you are willing to do some shady things, there is no way to turn a home business opportunity into an instant success. To be successful, you’ll have to put in the time and effort to make the business take off. And that’s only after you know what you’re doing. Contrary to this myth, you’ll probably even lose money as you figure things out. That’s to be expected. What can’t be expected is that just because you work for yourself, you’ll be successful. In fact, the opposite is true. Working for yourself means that you will enjoy all of the successes, but you’ll also suffer all of the hardships along the way. Launching a business involves a substantial output of cash and that’s a pretty difficult starting point from which to make instant money.

Although having a website has the potential to help your business, it will only do so if it is well designed, easily navigable and consistently maintained. It by no means does all the work necessary to make a business successful. You’ll have to take care of all aspects of your business, including website maintenance, if you want to be successful.

Now that you know some of the realities about a work at home business opportunity, you shouldn’t let it dissuade you from jumping in with both feet. Just be aware that many opportunities will promise you things they can’t possibly deliver. If you go into your opportunity with open eyes and a willingness to work hard, then the possibility for success and satisfaction is definitely there.

There are a lot of advantages to having a home-based business, so I’ll start with the disadvantages first. One, if you have a lot of distractions at home, it can sometimes be difficult to stay focused on your work. Easily fixed if you have a home office space with a door you can close. Another disadvantage is that some folks just are not self-disciplined enough to be their own boss, or on the other hand, may have a hard time balancing work with home life A lot of folks who work from home (either for someone else, or for themselves), have trouble with putting in too many hours. The only other disadvantage that comes to mind is that you may sometimes feel isolated, especially if you do most of your business online. Easily fixed by planning activities outside your home (church/community/friends) on a regular basis.

Now the advantages: BIG tax deductions for having home office, and for business expenses. Much less wear and tear on your car, and much less spent on gas! No more wasted time commuting! More time wtih family. Casual dress attire always! Much less stress. Friendly work environment. Totally flexible work schedule. No boss! Having a home-based business also makes it much more affordable to start your own business with much less overhead because you are already paying for the rent/utilities to live there. Last, if you are a parent, you can spend much less on daycare if you have your child(ren) at home with you, even for part of the time they would normally be at daycare.

I don’t know how the Pentagon fits into this big web of lies and scams but it looks like they take it seriously. Seriously enough that they might be resorting to drastic measures to protect the integrity of the US should things get desperate enough. With that in mind shouldn’t we try to do something about it now, while we still have wiggle room? Rather than wait until the tanks are rolling down the streets?

There are millions of people who are under the false impression that people who work from home have it so good. They can set their own schedule and work when and if they feel like it. The environment is tranquil because they do not have a pesky boss nagging at them constantly, and they do not have to spend hundreds of dollars on a professional wardrobe. In most cases, nothing could be farther from the truth.

To begin with, people who work from home have to set a schedule to be able to complete the tasks before them. They are under tremendous pressure because they have a very difficult time keeping these schedules because something always comes up that requires their attention immediately. It can be very stressful having to complete the tasks in the 11th hour, and have them done correctly.

Having discipline is very important. There is no pesky boss looking over your shoulder, berating you if you slack off. At times it may be necessary to develop the alter ego of a pesky boss just to get yourself started!

It can be difficult starting a home business. However, if you really love what you do for work, you will find ways to manage your business. Being successful mean that you can provide all of the things in life that your and your family wants and needs. It is entirely up to you to decide if a home based business is right for you.
